The "floating hull" ©- ideology
Commonly kayaks has 2 hulls, one for carving and the other for planning. We expanded the ideology, and made one more hull. The floating hull is the third hull that is effective when not planning or carving. It comes out in the most needed situations like on the top of the foam for set up, mistakes & mess upps, after rolling or just sitting in the eddy.
The smooth lines of the floating hull makes Wheelboy really stable and forgiving . The round lines of floating hull combine perfectly with sharp carving edges of the carving hull and flat plane of the planning hull. Third hull allows a quick lift to plane and keeps the volume up for cathching waves or surviving those boily ferries.
"Equal presure" ©- theory
Some desings are blaimed to faster than others due complete flatness of the hull. I believe it, at least in theory. Well, there is a question I need to ask. Are waves flat ??
Not the ones we have seen. We try to find right combination of flat and round to get egual presure while planing. Not much just a litle for extra looseness and forgiveness . Needless to say we go for continuous rocker. We want to use every inch of our hull lenght. To allow bouncy paddling style our kayaks have extended bow rocker.
